Take my antlers upon your head, young one
with me, against me, knock, clash and defend;
Stab me! Kill me! O'erthrow me and learn to bend!
Break me and become king of stag and sun
Hear hooves on the ground and beside me run
no matter how the green old lord's path may wend.
Lay with the Lady, so the circle shan't end,
Renew the land; love on my skin of dun.
And gladly I fall to you, young stag
But beware my years ahead, my rebirth.
Enjoy those years of the flight of your flag
as I grow, once more returned to your earth
and our battle shall start again, King Stag,
the land renewed with your blood and my love.
