I live in a small town in Virginia. I was born and raised in North Carolina until I was 14 years old.
My mom remarried and we moved to Virginia. I am an only child. I lost my dad to asthma when I was 13 years old. My mom and I have been really close through the years since I lost my dad.
I was born with Spina Bifida and that means I am paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair. I have had other things happen health wise throughout my life so I like to say I have Spina Bifida plus accessories.
I have been married for 10 years. He is also disabled and in a wheelchair. We live on our own and manage ok.
I was raised in church and I have always believed God has been there for me to help me through some really bad times in my life. I do struggle with wondering why God would have me here and what my purpose in life is. I just try to be the best person I can be and get as much out of life as I can while I am here. I try to always be the best friend I can.
I love being able to meet people from all over the world on the internet. I stay on the computer as much as I can and in the Disabilities-R-Us room alot because of the wonderful friends I have made there. I will always cherish my time with my friends online.
Dear Friends and Readers;
On September 15, 2006, Bev Jones, my friend for almost 9 years, passed away due to congestive heart failure. She was 34 years old.
I will miss her. We all will miss her.
There are far too few good people in the world and we just lost another. As a tribute to her - as a tribute to life itself -- make it a point to go around and let your friends and family know how much you love them. You may never have that chance again.
