| Poetic stories of exploring, understanding and honoring our bodies.
Written by various writers at SaidSimple.com, this is a work in progress.
The goal of these writings is to change our opinion of ourselves. Not by looking at ourselves as a whole, but rather all the small parts that fit together to make us. When we can find good in all the small parts, we can then assemble them all together and find the good in the whole. We encourage you to join the other writers here in this learning assignment. In complete privacy, stand, sit, or lay naked and use a hand mirror to closely examine each part of your body. Then write down all the good things that you saw. Then move on to another part of your body and do it all over again. You may write it as a story, or poetry, or even as a simple list. After you do, please consider sharing it here so that others can learn and be inspired by your insight. If you would like to contribute to this section but you don't have access to write here, ask me or just send by anonymous email and they will be posted anonymously on your behalf. If you would like to contribute a body image to accompany any of these writings, please you may also send them by anonymous email. Nude or other detailed intimate photos are acceptable. Please note that all accepted photos will be artistically re-rendered to fit the format of this site, but they will not be modified otherwise. |

Many of us have body issues so strong that it forces us to limit our lives out of fear that of what everyone else's perception of us will be. We start hiding our bodies and thoughts from others and then slowly move toward silent self-destruction by hiding our bodies and thoughts from even ourselves. When an entire society does this, one has to wonder how much longer society will exist.
