Finally, a good thing to report.
A couple nights ago after coming back from recovering a lost pair of glasses I smelled something burning. I couldn't tell whether it was the heater or the computer so I turned both off.
Yesterday while the electrician was repairing the heater, my computer released it's life giving blue smoke and died. I did what anyone would do and transferred the hard drive into one of my cheap systems but it wouldn't boot. Luckily I was able to use the Fedora rescue CD and by bed time everything was working again and all backed up. A happy ending.
